Esther

This is not a word-for-word scripture melody. It is a retelling of the story of Esther 1-9, paraphrased and condensed for children.

In the land of Persia lived a rich proud king.
To go with his beautiful palace, he wanted a beautiful queen.
In the land of Persia lived a Jewish girl.
Esther and her cousin Mordecai loved the one true God.
The king chose Esther to be his queen.
God chose her to save His people.
In the land of Persia lived a wicked man.
Haman hated Mordecai so much that he made an evil plan
To kill all the Jewish people.
None of them would be saved,
But Mordecai heard about it and informed the queen.
Mordecai told Esther about Haman’s plan.
He said, “What if you have become the queen for such a time as this?”
Esther made a brave plan to interrupt the king.
He could have had her killed that night,
But she found favor in His sight.
Esther served a dinner and revealed Haman’s plot.
The Jewish people were all saved but Haman’s life was not.
The king chose Esther to be his queen.
God chose her to save His people.
